5 ways to support Jaden's Place that aren't money.

Not everyone can write a check. Everyone can do one of these.

Bike Fest volunteers

We love donors. We love them so much we keep asking for more. But we also know that support comes in many forms — and some of the most valuable things you can offer us don't involve a dollar sign. Here are five.

1. Volunteer a shift

Two hours. That's the minimum. Setup, check-in, food line, tear-down. Teams welcome. Teens welcome with a guardian. Sign up on our volunteer form and we'll plug you into the next event.

2. Donate in-kind

Backpacks, notebooks, pencils, calculators, school shoes, uniforms, coats, socks, non-perishables, bikes, helmets. If it helps a kid show up better — we'll put it to work. Email info@jadensplace2014.org to coordinate a drop-off.

3. Share our work

Repost our Instagram. Tell your neighbor about the next event. Share a family's story when we post it. A share takes three seconds and can reach the person who becomes our next major sponsor.

Follow @jadensplace2014.

4. Offer your skill

Can you cut hair? Take photos? Edit video? Run a kids' activity? Coach a sport? Speak a second language? Teach a class? We build our events around whoever shows up with something to offer.

5. Connect us

Know a school principal who could use a partner? A local business that does matching gifts? A newsroom reporter who covers community? Introductions are currency in this work. If you know one person we should know — send the email.

Bonus: Show up

Sometimes the best thing you can do is come to an event as a neighbor. Bring your kids. Eat a plate. Clap for someone. Community is the thing we're actually building — and community requires bodies in the room.

Every one of these items is a real way our work moves forward. Pick one. Start this week.

Plug in today.

Volunteer, partner, or just introduce us to someone great. We'll take it from there.
